The second chapter of the Cawdor Collection takes the Source liquid, Royal Brackla’s 11 year old refill sherry butt spirit, and re-racks it into a rare Uitvlugt rum octave, drawing on one of the Caribbean’s most storied and long-silent distilleries.
Uitvlugt closed its doors in 1999, but its heavy Demerara-style rum lives on in casks like this one, carrying decades of tropical influence into an unexpected and deeply rewarding marriage with Highland malt.

Nose: Rich and layered: dark dried fruit and worn leather from the sherry base meet the rum octave’s contribution of sun-dried sugarcane, overripe tropical fruit, and a subtle smoky warmth
Palate: The sweet Royal Brackla character anchors proceedings while the Uitvlugt finish builds around it: dark fruit, treacle, mango, and a gentle coconut note, all threaded through with the distillery’s own stone fruit core.
Finish: The finish is long and lingering, with molasses, dried orange peel, and a final curl of woody spice.
