Created just a stone’s throw from the Giant’s Causeway, Basalt Volcanic Rock Gin brings together ancient geology and thoroughly modern distilling.
The gin is made using water drawn from the distillery’s own 600-foot borehole. Naturally filtered through the basalt rock basin beneath the Causeway Coast, the water helps to give the spirit impressive clarity and texture.
Fresh citrus and classic juniper lead the way, followed by warming cassia, ginger and peppery spice. Buckwheat softens the palate, while kombu royale seaweed and sea buckthorn add a gentle savoury, coastal depth. Bold enough to remain full of character, but bottled at an approachable 42.1% ABV, this is a wonderfully distinctive Irish gin.
