High Coast Berg
Hailing from one of the world's highest distillery's, located in Sweden, High Coast Distillery is blessed with unique conditions for whisky making.
Berg is one of four releases of the Origins range. Aged in 1st Fill Bourbon casks and finished in American Oak Pedro Ximenez casks, the complex flavour is a real treat. Averaging around 6 and a half years, the colour is reminiscent of a fully matured PX whisky, even though it is naturally coloured and non-chillfiltered.
Nose: Chocolate honeycomb sweetness, hob nobs, sugared sultanas and oak
Palate: Wine gums, dark chocolate and dates are the immediate notes. In time almonds and brown sugar come to the fore. It's creamy texture is a delight as it wraps around your mouth with just the right amount of spirit notes and spice.
Finish: Long and lingering. Very moresih and tempting. Chocolate almonds and sultana's with a lovely dry cinnamon spice. It just keeps going!
