The GlenAllachie 19-Year-Old Ex-Solera Sherry Cask Matured is the second release in the distillery's highly acclaimed, super-premium Masters of Wood Series. Crafted by legendary Master Distiller Billy Walker, this limited-edition Speyside single malt showcases unparalleled wood management by utilizing incredibly rare casks that held sherry within traditional Spanish solera systems for over 55 years before being filled with whisky. This Spirit spent it’s early years in a first fill American oak ex-bourbon cask and was then transferred in to a rare Ex-Solera cask which had previously for over 55 years held Pedro Ximenez and Olorosso Sherry.
Cask Type: Ex-Bourbon then Solera cask( Px and olorosso)
Tasting Notes:
Nose Brandied plum, intense mocha and honeycomb, with caramel snaps, molasses tart and rich cocoa.
Palate: Plum syrup, treacle and warmed heather honey, followed by black cherries, mocha and Brandie’s orchard fruits, with crystallised cinnamon and ginger.
