Bottling Notes:
The Allt Gleann is the second single malt release from Torabhaig ( tora-vaig), the newest distillery on the isle of Skye. Meaning 'old glen' in Gaelic, this is the second of four planned releases between 2021 and 2024 in The Legacy Series.
Created from just 30 first-fill and re-fill ex-bourbon barrels that were distilled and filled in 2017.
The Torabhaig distillery was founded in 2016 by Mossburn Distillers, in a converted farm buildings dating back to the 1820s. The distillery itself is a beautifully rustic setting, harking back to the traditional days of farming on Skye.

Tasting Notes:
Nose: Robust peat smoke initially, with a distinct earthy and saline and fruity quality to it. Imagine cooking apples on a barbecue at your favourite beach, while next to a field of freshly cut barley.
Palate: A peppery and peaty punch makes way for salted caramel sweetness. A little spice, and brown sugar sprinkled over dried seaweed. A savoury dram initially, a drop of water reveals more sweet notes, butterscotch, poached pears or apples become more prominent.
Finish: back to a savoury spice. Dry, peppery and long finish littered with salt and cigar leaf.
