17.3 is a spirit led Octomore that grounds barley, provenance and place, balancing muscular peat with elegance and nuance.
Matured in a cuvee of first fill bourbon barrels and second fill Ribera Del Duero, Sauternes, Eiwsein and Syrah barriques.
Created using 100% Islay Concerto barley grown on Octomore Farm, aged for 5 years and peated to 132.1ppm.
Tasting Notes:
Nose: Salted caramel, smoked apple and toasted coconut joined by pralines and smoked malt.
Palate: Earthy and deeply charred oak wraps the palate in dry, ashy smoke whilst citrus oils and salinity cut through.
Finish: weather-beaten, coastal and deeply satisfying.
