This 5 year old Islay single malt has been matured exclusively in first-fill bourbon barrels, giving plenty of vanilla sweetness, orchard fruit and richness to balance the distillery’s coastal peat smoke. Bottled at natural cask strength, with no chill-filtration and no added colouring, this is Ardnahoe in its most powerful and expressive form.
Expect coastal brine, earthy peat and rich cocoa on the nose, followed by orchard fruits, herbal tea and salted caramel on the palate. The finish is long, smoky and warming, with a lovely citrus lift cutting through the Islay smoke.
