Stone Circle Volume #4 Dunnideer Edition 10 Year Old Ardmore
We are delighted to introduce the Fourth Edition of our Stone Circle Single Cask series - Dunnideer Teaming up with Independent Bottler Berry Bros & Rudd we have selected a 10 year old Single Cask from the Ardmore Distillery, based locally in Aberdeenshire.
Situated near the town of Insch, Dunnideer (or Dunnydeer) Hill Fort lies in view of no less than 5 Stone Circles. An Ancient structure that almost certainly dates back to the 3rd Century BC. Legends tell that the tower we see today was constructed by Gregory the Great, King of the Picts, around 880 AD. Dunnideer Stone Circle lies on the grounds of this ancient fort and would have been used by these Picts for worshipping purposes.
The Tower is also visible from the Kennethmont Distillery of Ardmore. A distillery steeped in history and one of the last Highland Distilleries to peat their own barley on site.
Stewed fruit, burnt caramel and light tobacco on the nose, enriched with hazelnut and vanilla
On the Palate: Buttered Toast. Sweet notes of burnt caramel, brandy basket and vanilla and cinnamon ice cream. Sweet smoky notes roll around the tongue and linger longer than most flavour.
On the finish are notes of lingering smoke, spiced cinnamon and apple pie. The finish is dry, moreish and medium in length.
Only 242 bottles of this are available in 70cl bottles, bottled at a natural cask strength of 56.5%, and with no added colouring or chill filtration.
